Weaving is an extremely old art, whose peak has been reached in Turkey, Persia, Caucasus, Turkestan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, India and China, with each centre holding its own specific characteristics, techniques, patterns and themes. The earliest rug appears to be as olf as the 5th century BCE, and it was found in the icy lands of Siberia. This auction is an invitation to this decorative universe where you will be given the opportunity to admire 19th and 20th century pieces: Persian, Turkish, Pakistani rugs or rugs from Azerbaijan, as well as cloths from Oltenia or Maramureș, Wallachia or Moldavia, which are still weaving the liveliest of life stories.
