He was born on July 31, 1937 in Bucharest. From 1953 to 1957, he attended the Fine Arts Secondary School in Bucharest, then, after a period in which he attended the Țuculescu house, he was admitted to the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Fine Arts Institute (1957 - 1963), where he had Corneliu Baba as a teacher. He has been active in the field of pedagogy, as a professor at the University of Arts in Bucharest (1991 - 2000), Dean of the Faculty of History and Theory of Art (1996 - 2001), and professor at the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest (2001 - 2006). His works can be found today at Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Sweden, as well as in numerous private collections in the country and abroad (Italy, USA, Sweden, Switzerland).
