The 7th Roșiori Regiment was a tactical level cavalry unit, which was established on August 14/27, 1916, by mobilizing the units and subunits existing in peacetime. The Regiment was stationed in Iași garrison. The Regiment was part of the 6th Roșiori Brigade organization, alongside the 8th Roșiori Regiment. At the beginning of the war, the 7th Roșiori Regiment was commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel Constantin Cătuneanu. The unit participated in military actions on the Romanian front, throughout the war, between August 14/27, 1916 - October 28/November 11, 1918.
