auction #546
Auction of Sacred Art, including the collection of a world vice-champion of bridge, as well as the traditional art collection of the philosopher Emil Cioran's family #546/2024
Thursday, 25 April 2024, 19:00
Cesianu-Racoviță Palace, Bucharest
Dating back to the early days of Christianity and centuries of persecution, the icon is part of Tradition. In this auction, we will find alongside icons on glass, signed or attributed to famous icon painters like Matei Țâmforea, Pavel Zamfir or from the first workshop in Nicula, icons made during the time of Constantin Brâncoveanu or from the famous Greek or Russian schools of sacred painting, which have left their mark on the national style (post-Brâncovenesc). Bearing grace, icons or sacred art pieces are exquisite collectible gifts for the festive month, reminding us of the perpetual search and embodiment of the divine. The selection is crowned by two series of ancient Romanian art from the collections of bridge champion Coriolan Neamțu and the family of philosopher Emil Cioran.
