In the Snow
Description
Even though he studied formally and academically at the School of Fine Arts, with teachers like Frederic Storck and Camil Ressu, M.H.Maxy was immediately drawn to the avant-garde wave, and shortly after the end of World War I, he discovered the creations of Arthur Segal, Paul Klee or Hans Arp. Alongside his exceptional career in painting, Maxy remains a creator to this day: of magazines, cultural trends - Integralism - or the Academy of Decorative Arts. During the communist period, he also taught, but his main activity revolved around the National Museum of Art, of which he was the director starting from 1949.
